What a Flushing man assumed was a $4 Lucky For Life prize ended up being a $25,000 a Year for Life prize from the Michigan Lottery!

Daryl Tilley, 57, won the big prize when his Lucky For Life ticket matched the five white balls drawn on March 25: 01-04-31-39-47. He bought his winning ticket online at MichiganLottery.com.

“Every now and then I will get online and purchase a Lucky for Life ticket,” said Tilley. “The day after the drawing, I saw an email about a prize, and I assumed it was a $4 win. When I logged into my account, I saw an amount much bigger than that! I showed my wife, and it took me awhile to convince her that it was real. We were both stunned!”

Tilley visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim his prize. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of $390,000, rather than annuity payments of $25,000 a year for 20 years or life, whichever is greater. With his winnings, he plans to go on a vacation and then save the remainder.
