Michigan State Police looking to hire for several different positions

Applications available for people 18 and up

Michigan State Police are looking to hire for several different types of positions.

“We want to serve as minded men and women that come and be a part of the Michigan State Police,” Michigan State Police Col. James Grady II said. “You know, we don’t only offer enlisted positions -- we have a lot of civilian professional positions as well.

“A lot of times, people are not aware that we have a forensic science division. So we need scientists. We need accountants. We have a budget division in MSP. We have an intel analyst for intelligence gathering to help keep Michigan safe.

“We have those positions available in MSP and in many other roles and responsibilities. Both enlisted and civilian. There’s tons of options, tons opportunity within them, as well

“We don’t just write tickets. Every trooper’s an investigator. I like to call it a jack of all trades, so to speak. We have community service troopers. We have troopers that are working in plainclothes or working undercover. We have troopers that are flying helicopters here in MSD. And we train you to do that.”

Applicants can start as young as 18 years old, as long as they have a high school degree.

Competitive salaries and benefits are included, and there are opportunities for promotion.
