DETROIT – Approximately 420 new jobs are coming to Michigan as part of Dollar General’s 2017 growth plan.
According to Dollar General, the growth plan includes adding 1,000 stores and approximately 10,000 new jobs in the U.S. The jobs will increase the workforce by roughly 9 percent, the largest one-year employee increase ever for the 78-year-old company.

“These new jobs reflect the organization’s commitment to seize growth opportunities and further deliver Dollar General’s value proposition of everyday low prices on quality merchandise to customers,” Dollar General’s CEO Todd Vasos said.
The company also said it is expected to invest more than 1.5 million hours into training employees to “promote education and development throughout the year.”
