Alex Trebek’s final episode of “Jeopardy!” will air Friday night -- ahead of the show a moving tribute was shared with the public.
His final five episodes were all taped in late October. At the time of the taping nobody knew they would be his last, according to a release.

Trebek hosted the quiz show for more than 36 years. The tribute to him will also air in Friday’s episode.
Trebek died Nov. 8 after a long battle with cancer. He was 80 years old. Trebek was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March 2019, and he continued to host the show for the next 18 months.

Next Monday, former champion Ken Jennings will appear as the first guest host on the show. Several news outlets are reporting that former news anchor Katie Couric has also signed on as a guest host. It will be some time before a permanent host is selected.
