Attention Target shoppers -- there are changes coming to the self-checkout.

Starting on March 17, new express self-checkout lanes will be available at nearly 2,000 stores nationwide for customers buying 10 items or less. Target says store leaders will be able to open more lanes and set self-checkout hours for their stores.

Express lanes will be open during busy shopping hours.

In addition to this, Target is also staffing more traditional check-out lanes for shoppers with more in the cart. Which is probably my wife.

Target says the changes are aimed at speeding up check-out time for both self-checkout shoppers and traditional check-out shoppers.

Some retailers have started to move away from self-checkout lanes due to user error and shoplifting concerns.
