Hoda Kotb will be leaving NBC News’ “TODAY” show early next year, according to NBC.
Kotb has spent six years as co-anchor of NBC News’ morning show. She said she made the decision to leave the show after turning 60 in August. She will remain part of the NBC family.
“I just turned 60, and it was such a monumental moment for me when I turned 60 years old, because I started thinking about that decade. What does that decade mean? What’s it hold? What’s it gonna have for me? And I realized that it was time for me to turn the page at 60 and to try something new,” Kotb said.
According to NBC News, Kotb joined the network as a correspondent for “Dateline” in 1998. She joined the “TODAY” team in 2007, co-hosting the show’s fourth hour with Kathie Lee Gifford. She has co-anchored the “TODAY” show with Savannah Guthrie since early 2018.
