SHOCKING VIDEO: Florida man uses electric baton to beat clerk and rob convenience store

Police in Fort Pierce, Florida arrested a man after he was seen on surveillance video using an electric shock weapon on a clerk during a robbery Thursday.

The footage shows 21-year-old Middleton Henderson speaking with the clerk at the register of a Citgo station. Things appear calm before Henderson suddenly pulls out the electric baton and uses it on the clerk.

A fight ensues. Henderson climbs onto the counter and continues using the baton on the clerk.  Henderson then pulls the clerk over the counter by the shirt. The clerk attempts to fight back, but Henderson keeps him on the ground using the baton.

Henderson then jumps over the counter and takes cash from the register. As Henderson is leaving, the clerk struggles to stop him, but he gets away.

The surveillance footage was posted on the Fort Pierce Police Department's Facebook page.

Police said Henderson was arrested Thursday. He is charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery. He has been booked into the St. Lucie County Jail.

According to WPTV, officers searched for the suspect with the help of a police helicopter and K-9. Authorities said they found Henderson in a nearby abandoned house.

Henderson reportedly told police, "It didn't go according to plan, the clerk fought back."
