BRANDON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – An Oakland County Sheriff's deputy was killed during a pursuit Thursday in Brandon Township.
Deputy Eric Overall, 50, was killed.

The pursuit started in Lapeer County at the county jail. Authorities said the suspect made threats and posed an imminent threat to the public.
The pursuit went westbound on I-69 to southbound M-15. It then entered Oakland County into Brandon Township.
Overall was outside of his patrol car and about to deploy "stop sticks" at the intersection of southbound M-15 and Seymour Lake Road when the deputy was struck.
The suspect's vehicle rolled over. Authorities said they believe the driver purposely ran over Overall.
Overall was a 22-year veteran of the Oakland County Sheriff's office. He was a husband and a father.
“He had a great career here and touched a lot of lives,” Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. ”It’s the worst day in a law enforcement community when we lose one of our own on the front lines.”
Authorities said Overall was not immediately found after the crash.
“It wasn’t immediately apparent where he went,” Bouchard said. “Tragically it took a minute or two for them to locate the deputy.”
The suspect was immediately taken into custody at the scene.
Authorities said the suspect had four prior convictions for possession of marijuana and a conviction for resisting and obstructing police.
