DETROIT – Former President Barack Obama visited Detroit Tuesday night to support Vice President Kamala Harris.
Obama was introduced by Detroit’s own Eminem, who inspired the former president to rap a few lines from his hit, “Lose Yourself.”
Obama spoke to a standing-room-only crowd at Huntington Place for the campaign event. Several top Democratic leaders were on hand, including Governor Gretchen Whitmer and current Senate candidate Elissa Slotkin.
Both Eminem and Obama urged Michigan voters to cast their vote for Harris during the rally on Oct. 22.
On Friday, former President Donald Trump also held a rally at Huntington Place. He vowed to bolster the Motor City and national auto manufacturing industry by imposing tariffs on foreign cars.
Trump was joined briefly on stage by Detroit-based rapper and record producer Trick Trick and Thomas Hearns.
