Trump won the 2024 presidential election against Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris.

Harris conceded the presidential election to Donald Trump on Wednesday and encouraged supporters to continue fighting for their vision of the country.

Biden said in his speech on Nov. 7 that he called Trump on Wednesday to congratulate him and assured him that his administration would work with Trump’s team to conduct a peaceful transfer of power.

“That’s what the American people deserve,” said Biden.

Biden‘s speech focused on the American people’s reaction to Trump’s win in hopes people could come together following the results.

“You can‘t love your country only when you win. You can’t love your neighbor only when you agree,” said Biden.

Biden assured the election system was fair and that it should be trusted.

He thanked his administration and America for his time as president.

“Don’t forget for all that we accomplished,” said Biden as he closed his speech.

Biden now has 74 days left in his term before Inauguration Day.
