The body was naked. Police say Brown had been raped, tied up and set on fire.
Now, Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
Her mother, Jacqueline Allen-Brown Warren, asked the public to help.
"All I want to know is who did it. Somebody knows something and I'm begging," Warren said.
Brittany's young brother, Daeron Brown, also made a plea.
"I just wish you all would just speak up and help out our family because I miss her. My heart was broken when I first found out," Brown said.
Family members say Brittany was bipolar and could have easily been led astray. Her body was found one month after she disappeared.
Barry Ross, of the Detroit Coalition Against Violence, reminded the public that any tips called in to Crime Stoppers of Michigan, are handled anonymously.
"If you know who did this to this woman and you saw it or you are a neighbor, it's your responsibility to say something. No one's going to come after you," Ross said.
