Shelby Township Lions Club to host wine tasting event to benefit Leader Dogs for the Blind

Did you know the organization Leader Dogs for Blind was founded by three Lions Club members back in 1939? Today, their partnership remains stronger than ever, especially here in metro Detroit.

Next month, The Shelby Township Lions Club will be hosting their annual wine tasting event to benefit the LDB facility in Rochester Hills. There will over 100 wines to choose from along with dinner, a craft beer & liqour tasting

"This event is top notch," said Ray Confer, chair of the event. "100% of the proceeds goes to Leader Dogs for the Blind and thats why we want to make it a fun social event that everyone can enjoy."

WHERE: Palazzo Grande, 54660 Van Dyke Shelby Twp.

WHEN: Friday, November 4th from 6:30pm to 11pm.

TICKETS: $80 each, $125 for VIP or reserve a table of 10 for $750

It's thanks to events like this that Leader Dogs for Blind in Rochester Hills was recently able to renovate their training facility.

"It was a $14.5 million dollar renovation that makes our facility state of the art, one of the best in country," said Melissa Weisse, Chief Philanthropy Officer for LDB. "We're able to breed and more dogs in a happy, safe enviroment which means we get to help more people."
