WARREN, Mich. – The proposal to award licenses to 15 medical marijuana dispensaries in Warren was passed by City Council Tuesday, but Warren Mayor Jim Fouts said he's going to veto it.
Fouts said he is worried about lawsuits against the city that could cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to defend.
Fouts said he's pro medical marijuana and complimentary of the council in the licensing process. However, he is concerned about the potential fallout from the dozens of applicants who were denied.
The mayor has his own idea on how it can work and protect the city.
