WOODHAVEN, Mich. – A Brownstown Township woman is facing child endangerment and drunken driving charges after police said she crashed her car earlier this month with her two children in it.
Police said Diane Marie Justice, 36, crashed April 5 on West Road in Woodhaven. Her blood-alcohol level was 0.39 percent, nearly five times the legal limit in Michigan.
In Michigan, a person with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 percent is considered drunk. The state also considers 0.17 percent or higher to be "super drunk."
Her 8-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son were turned over to a grandmother.
Police said they found an empty pint of vodka under the driver's seat, and Justice was taken to the hospital because her alcohol levels were so high.
