BRIGHTON, Mich. – A woman has been charged after stabbing two people and herself during an attack at a laundromat in Brighton, officials said.
Stephanie Rohn was arrested Sept. 17 after stabbing two people and trying to stab a third person inside a laundromat on West Grand River Boulevard near Cross Street, according to authorities.
Brighton police officers were called to the laundromat around 12:25 p.m. on reports that a woman in her 30s was stabbing customers.
When officers arrived, they found Rohn holding a large knife against her stomach, according to officials.
She was taken into custody without further incident, police said.
One stabbing victim was treated at the scene and released, officials said. The other victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The second victim's condition is unknown.
Linda Morin said she works at the Rustic Pointe home decor store next to the laundromat and heard screams.
"We heard somebody screaming, definitely screaming," Morin said. "We both ran to the door and saw a white Ford truck there, the doors opened and a lady was screaming, 'Put it down, put it down!' We thought it was a gun. We just locked the door."
She said minutes later, a woman walked out of the laundromat while stabbing herself.
"It was a big commotion, and that lady's screams were blood-curdling," Morin said.
Rohn was arraigned Tuesday in 53rd District Court. A probable cause conference is scheduled for Oct. 15, and a preliminary examination is scheduled for Oct. 22.
