DETROIT – A woman was fatally shot Monday when a neighbor tried to shoot a dog that was attacking her, police said.
The incident happened near Goodwin and Westminster streets in Detroit.

The woman was being attacked by a dog when a neighbor pulled out a gun, officials said. Police said they believe the neighbor tried to shoot the dog, but instead struck the woman.
