DETROIT – Woodward Avenue between Jefferson and Larned will be closed for 90 days starting tonight.
The closure will allow the city to operate the new Spirit of Detroit plaza and decide if it will be long-term. The plaza will create a pedestrian walkway from Campus Martius to the Riverwalk.
The plaza will feature food trucks, performances, and areas for visitors to enjoy the space.
A grand opening is planned for Monday, June 12 at 11 a.m.
