A pizza delivery driver was attacked by two 14-year-old girls in Ypsilanti Township, police said. (WDIV)

YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A pizza delivery driver was assaulted and robbed Friday by two teenage girls armed with "black metal objects," Ypsilanti Township police said.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Davis Street, where a 45-year-old Happy's Pizza delivery driver said two teens with "black metal objects" had struck him multiple times in the face and head.

He said the teens stole the delivery vehicle and cash. Deputies found the vehicle and two 14-year-old girls.

The girls were taken into custody and held at the Washtenaw County Juvenile Detention Center, police said.

Officials took the driver to the hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The case is still under investigation.
