DETROIT – A gunman murdered a random person inside a Detroit gas station before killing himself, according to authorities. Police began investigating after two bodies were found at the Mobil gas station. Officials said a man at the gas station shot another person at random and then turned the gun on himself. His family members said he deserved better. The gas station is a Project Green Light location, so there are cameras all around.

DETROIT – Police cars and crime scene tape blocked the intersection of Joy and Greenfield roads for hours Tuesday morning. Lori Fields was on her way to the bus stop when the heavy police presence caught her attention. “I saw the police up here and I was like, ‘What happened?’ because obviously they have the whole street blocked off,” she said. Detroit police said a 66-year-old man was stabbed in his head and his butt at the intersection early Tuesday morning. They’re not certain what caused this stabbing, but this crime scene has Fields asking a lot of questions.

WHITE LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Lakeland High School in White Lake Township was dismissed early Monday due to elevated levels of carbon monoxide, school officials said. “We are working with officials at the White Lake Fire Department to properly handle the situation,” officials said in a release. Those who ride buses waited for transportation at the field house, where carbon monoxide levels were deemed safe, authorities said. Parents hoping to pick students up from the school were asked to do so in the student parking lot. “We are evacuating out of an abundance of caution and do not believe students are in any danger,” school officials said in a release.

INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 13-year-old girl was killed Tuesday in Oakland County when the snowmobile she was riding on crashed into the back of another snowmobile, ejecting her, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. Police said the girl, from Orion Township, was a passenger on a snowmobile driven by a 13-year-old Orion Township boy. The boy was following his 55-year-old father, from Independence Township, who was also riding a snowmobile, according to deputies. Oakland County deputies and Independence Township firefighters were called at 4:09 p.m. Tuesday to the area of Whipple Lake and North Eston roads in Independence Township. SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The man shot and killed by a Shelby Township officer was claiming to be armed and acting aggressively at the time of the shooting, according to police. Officials said Kanwarbir Malhi, 25, was in a stolen car, ignored commands, said he had a gun and made violent gestures. Shelby Township Police Chief Robert Shelide said the incident happened around 1 a.m. Saturday near the Spring Hill apartments at Ryan and Utica roads. They called police and reported the car stolen, officials said. AdOfficers on patrol overnight saw the stolen car and did what's called a "felony stop."
