Happy Sunday! Our weekend edition of this newsletter will be a bit different from the normal Monday through Friday version. On Sundays, I'll try my best to get you ready for the week ahead. Let's take a look at what to keep an eye on this week.

Up Next

  • UAW-GM negotiations: The strike is entering its 5th week. GM CEO Mary Barra met with UAW leaders on Thursday, urging the sides to come to a deal. We'll see what happens this week.
  • Budget battle continues: Yes, we avoided a government shutdown -- but the battle over the budget seems to be only beginning. Republicans are trying to overturn some of Gov. Whitmer's last minute line item vetoes. We'll see where things go this week.
  • Lions on Monday Night Football: The Lions will take on the Packers in an early NFC North showdown in primetime on Monday night. The Lions have beaten Green Bay in four straight games.
  • Dems debate again: The fourth 2020 Democratic Presidential debate is on Tuesday and Wednesday night. There will be another in November.
