♨️ Weather: High 98°, Low 77° ♨️

Is that high enough for you? No? The heat index will make it feel hotter than 100 degrees in Metro Detroit. Is that hot enough?

Yes, yes it is. This is DANGEROUSLY high heat, folks. We're under an Excessive Heat Warning through 8 p.m. Saturday. Heat indices will peak during the afternoon hours in the 100 to 110 degree range. Low temperatures will only fall into the 70s each night limiting the possible relief from the heat.

Again, as we've been saying all week: Drink water! Check on senior citizens and take care of your pets -- here's what to do if your dog gets heatstroke. 🐕 🐈

Be smart and safe out there! Take care of each other.

Also: As expected, today is another Ozone Action Day -- what that means.

Traffic: I-94 closure this weekend

Look out for this one this weekend: MDOT crews will be setting new bridge beams on the French Road and Concord Street overpasses starting at 9 p.m. Friday, July 19. Crews will be setting more than 20 beams, which will require closing westbound I-94 from Conner Road to M-10 (Lodge Freeway) and eastbound I-94 from I-75 to Conner Road for the weekend.

All lanes of the freeway are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday.

😣 This has been a very annoying construction project! Hopefully they can make some progress this weekend. The crews will be working in extreme heat, which sounds awful. Let's all do them a favor and drive safely through these construction zones.

⛔ Telegraph closure

Not done yet: US-24 (Telegraph Road) will be closed this weekend at the I-696/M-10 interchange in Oakland County for storm sewer work.

Always check the live Traffic Map here.
