We got the rain we were forecasting, but maybe just a bit too much all at once in certain places on Sunday. The downpours created dangerous flooding on roadways and freeways. It all happened in a flash Saturday evening, which is why a flash flood warning was in effect.
Today, we're not expecting any rain. The temperature is slightly cooler than last week but we should see some warming through the week.

Traffic: 30 construction projects start TODAY 🚧
As if we need more orange barrels out there! You read that correctly: THIRTY road construction projects are slated to begin today around Metro Detroit. MDOT expects the projects to be completed between the middle and end of July.
The list includes work on I-75, I-94 and I-696. Check out the full list here to make sure you know what's on your route.

Skilled laborers needed 👷
Here's the skinny: Only four in 10 students and young adults in Southeast Michigan say they've had meaningful conversations with their parents about professional trades, the lowest in the state according to the Talent and Economic Development (Ted) Department of Michigan. That's why "Going PRO in Michigan" is being called one of the nation's most ambitious statewide education and awareness campaigns to help employers in Southeast Michigan and across the state fill an estimated 545,000 jobs opening through 2026. Talk about jobs to fill!
The program kicks off today in Detroit at the Wayne County Community College District's Health Science Center -- 8200 Outer Drive West, Detroit, MI 48219.
Teacher shortage help! 🍎🙋
Wayne State University is launching a new program to address Michigan's certified teachers shortage. The WSU College of Education will offer a two-week, non-residential college-readiness program designed specifically for underrepresented students interested in a career in teaching. The program will begin TODAY and last through Friday, July 19, with a selective group of 35 students. For more information contact the college here.

MLB Home Run Derby is tonight ⚾
The top 4 seeds include New York Met Pete Alonso, Josh Bell from the Pittsburgh Pirates and Alex Bregman from the Houston Astros to name a few. As you might have expected, the Tigers do NOT have a slugger in the derby. Here’s hoping for next year.
