🚧 MDOT lifts traffic restrictions for Labor Day weekend travel

Some actual GOOD traffic news if you're on the road this weekend. MDOT is removing lane restrictions on more than two-thirds of its road and bridge projects statewide to ease traffic delays for holiday travelers. Find the full list of projects here.

Back-to-school in Michigan 🚌

Most schools will open for the new year on Tuesday, which means a return to normal routines for busy families. Here's how Local 4's Karen Drew gets her two daughters ready to return to school.

2019 Annual Mackinac Bridge Walk 🌉

The 62nd Annual Bride Walk on the Mackinac Bridge is set for Sept. 2.  As it was for the 2018 Annual Bridge Walk, the Mackinac Bridge will be closed to public traffic from 6:30 a.m. to noon on Monday, Sept. 2, 2019 to accommodate the 2019 Annual Bridge Walk.

Expanded Detroit Design 139 Exhibition to feature 70 projects 🖼️

The second biennial Detroit Design 139 (DD139) exhibition will display 70 projects, policies and concepts that promote best practices for ensuring that the future of Detroit's built and natural environment is designed with everyone in mind. Exhibition is free and open to the public Sept. 5-30 in four convenient Detroit locations in the Downtown, Old Redford, Fitzgerald/Bagley and Morningside neighborhoods.

NFL regular season kicks off on NBC 🏈

The first regular season game of the NFL year will be Thursday night between Chicago and Green Bay. It'll be on NBC at 8:20 p.m. The Detroit Lions open on Sunday against Arizona.
