Happy Sunday! Our weekend edition of this newsletter will be a bit different from the normal Monday through Friday version. On Sundays, I'll try my best to get you ready for the week ahead. Let's take a look at what to keep an eye on this week.

Up Next

  • UAW-GM negotiations: We are looking forward to hearing any type of update on negotiations as we enter the 4th week of a UAW members strike against General Motors.
  • Elder abuse town hall: Michigan AG Dana Nessel recently announced a bipartisan Elder Abuse Task Force focused on developing strategies to mitigate the issue of elder abuse. At a town hall Monday, State Rep. Cynthia Johnson and Nessel will provide information about the task force, share available resources and discuss legislative issues impacting seniors in our community.
  • Macomb County budget review: The proposed 2020 General Fund Macomb County budget is $279.6 million and the proposed 2020 Capital Plan budget is $5.5 million. It will be under review this week.
  • Apple picking season: Pay attention this week to all the apple orchard news you can handle. It's officially apple picking season. We'll have cider mill deals and updates you need to know about.

Hey, if you like this newsletter, let us know. We'd love your feedback. We also offer several other newsletters that probably cater to at least one of your interests -- unless you're only interested in turtles. We don't have one for turtles. Sorry.
