The lioness, named Mary, mated with a lion and a tiger before giving birth to the cubs in December.

One of the lion-tiger cubs died shortly after it was born. The other two are living with their mother in a wildlife park.

A tigon is a cross between a lioness and a male tiger, while a liger is a cross between a lion and a female tiger.
