Michigan-based smartpetlove donates more than $220,000 in pet supplies after hurricanes Harvey, Irma

NOVI, Mich. – Smartpetlove, a pet supply company based in Novi, has donated more than $220,000 worth of pet supplies to help animals affected by hurricanes Harvey and Irma, the company announced this week.

Smartpetlove donated 3,000 snuggle blankets and 4,640 snuggle beds were donated to the SPCA of Texas, Houston Pets Alive, Jacksonville Humane Society, Friends of Clay County, and the Center for Great Apes.

The blankets and beds are designed to provide comfort to animals in times of anxiety and stress, the company said.

"We wanted to provide some comfort to the animals whose lives were drastically changed after the hurricanes," smartpetlove CEO Rob Emery said. "Many of our products are designed to help ease stress and anxiety in pets, so we thought the snuggle beds and blankets could make a difference."
