Summer may be over, but fall is arguably one of the best times to hit the road and take off up north. With the leaves changing color, the area is beautiful! It is also the time of year to harvest grapes and make some wine! Tati Amare recently spent some time in three great places you should check out. Here's a list on where she went.
1) Bowers Harbor Vineyard
Located on Mission point in Michigan's Wine country, Bowers Harbor Vineyard is the place to go to get a taste of Michigan made wine. They are famous for their Pinot Grigio. They were the first vineyard to produce this type of wine in the state of Michigan. They also have Rieslings, Unwooded Chardonnay, Cabernet Francs and more. If you are not a big fan of wine, they also have hard ciders in various flavors including blood orange and peach. You can learn about how their wine is made on one of their tours, and you can sample the different wines they offer. It's a fabulous place to go on a date or a trip with your friends.
2) Turtle Creek Casino
If you are a fan of gaming, then Turtle Creek Casino is for you. You can enjoy everything from slot machines to card games. After you've built up an appetite head across the casino floor to Bourbons 72, a world-class steak house with lots of bourbons to enjoy. You can even sample a bourbon flight!
3) Grand Traverse Resort
This resort is a nice way to get away from it all and relax. You can play a round of golf at the world-renowned The Bear Golf Course and stop by the spa for a relaxing massage before a night out. They also have a pool, workout rooms, and tennis courts so you can keep up your exercise routine while on vacation.
