Wilton Speight made just his second start as Michigan's starting quarterback Saturday, but he's already added an award to his resume.
Speight was named the Big Ten's offensive player of the week Monday after leading the Wolverines to a 51-14 victory over Central Florida. He completed 25 of 37 passes for 312 yards and four touchdowns.

The Wolverines struggled to run the ball against the Knights, averaging just 2.9 yards per carry on 41 attempts. When UCF continued to stack the box, Michigan turned to the play-action pass, and Speight took full advantage.
Speight hit All-American tight end Jake Butt seven times for 86 yards and two touchdowns. Amara Darboh finished with five catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns. Speight also completed passes to seven other players, picking apart the UCF defense with big plays.
Michigan improved to 2-0 behind Speight's performance and jumped defending national runner-up Clemson in the AP poll. The No. 4 Wolverines will play a third straight home game Saturday against undefeated Colorado.
