DETROIT – After four years at the helm, the end is likely near for Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus - and he knows it.
Ausmus, whose team has under 70 wins with just 11 games left in the season, told reporters this week that he thinks his fate has been sealed.

After trading Justin Verlander in August, Tigers general manager Al Avila told reporters he hadn't decided what to do with Brad Ausmus yet.
Avila told reporters that he "has not discussed the situation" with Tigers manager Brad Ausmus. Avila was asked if there is a scenario where Ausmus would stick around as the team rebuilds. He responded saying it's not out of the question, but he hasn't decided anything.
Ausmus has been with the Tigers since 2013, joining the club after Jim Leyland's retirement.
Ausmus led the Tigers to the playoffs in 2013 and in 2014, but have missed the playoffs the last two seasons.
