Feel the Bern: How was your Sunday without a Detroit Lions game?

DETROIT – The Detroit Lions got a well-deserved weekend off after their dominating performance vs. the Packers in Green Bay on Thursday.

The Lions are now 3-1 with Carolina coming to town, so they’re about to be 4-1. But how was your Sunday without the Lions on the schedule? How about a peek into the pathetic life that I lead?

On Friday, I tried to fly to New York because my 4-year-old granddaughter was having a birthday party on Sunday. A birthday party for 20 4-year-olds is something you never want to miss. But getting there proved to be the toughest part of the equation. The plane was leaving at 10:05 a.m., but then we were alerted that the plane would be 10 minutes delayed, and that quickly grew to 90 minutes. Why, you ask?

It was apparent after seeing some videos online that New York was trying to recreate the story of Noah and his Ark. The difference is that was 40 days of rain. Friday in New York was 40 days of rain in one day!

Flooding was everywhere. Brooklyn was especially hard hit. And guess where she lives? Bingo! So, using whatever brain I have left, I made the executive decision that going to New York was not in my best interest.

Did I mention my wife was already there begging me not to come? So, I changed the flight to Saturday, made it in 20 minutes early, and had a spectacular Sunday, downing pizza and cake. The wife was a lifesaver once again! Hope your Sunday was just as good.
