Delta Airlines adds 4 flights for Michigan football fans who want to go to Rose Bowl

Nonstop flights between DTW, LAX added around New Year’s Day

ROMULUS, Mich. – Delta Airlines has added four flights for Michigan football fans who want to watch their team play in the Rose Bowl semifinal of the College Football Playoff.

Nearly all flights from Detroit Metro Airport to the Los Angeles area have been booked as No. 1 Michigan prepares to play No. 4 Alabama in the championship semifinal on New Year’s Day.

In response, Delta has added four new flights -- two from DTW to LAX before the game and two from LAX to DTW after the game.

Here are the new flights:

  • Dec. 30: DL 8804 departs DTW at 10 a.m. ET and arrives at LAX at 12:14 p.m. PT.
  • Dec. 31: DL 8800 departs DTW at 10 a.m. ET and arrives at LAX at 12:14 p.m. PT.
  • Jan. 2: DL 8800 departs LAX at 10:35 a.m. PT and arrives at DTW at 6:05 p.m. ET.
  • Jan. 2: DL 8809 departs LAX at 1:35 p.m. PT and arrives at DTW at 9:07 p.m. ET.
