Comerica Park’s new video board will be the second-largest in MLB -- the old one was the 18th-largest, the release says.

“Investing in a world-class entertainment experience at Comerica Park for Tigers fans is a top priority for our organization, and we are excited to make these enhancements heading into next season,” said Ryan Gustafson, Ilitch Sports + Entertainment EVP/COO. “Fans will see and hear a noticeable difference on Opening Day, with a new video board more than double the size of the existing one, and significant advancements to the audio and television systems throughout the ballpark.”

The video board will also have an improved overall resolution for better lineup, stat, and analytical displays.

Work on the video board began Thursday, Dec. 14. It will continue through the winter.

The televisions on the concourse will now have additional channels, including live feeds of the organization’s minor-league affiliates.
