Feel the Bern: Can the Detroit Lions overcome this cold stretch?

DETROIT – You have to admit: The Detroit Lions got off to a sensational start this season. But in recent weeks, they have sagged a bit.

In their last four games, they are 2-2. But if you’re being honest, they could easily be 1-3, maybe even 0-4. Simply put, the Lions have not looked like the Lions of earlier this season.

So, what’s the problem? You can start with the offensive line, which has been hurt and beat up and missing some key parts. Also, the defense is not playing the way it did earlier this season. Some might say it’s come back to earth after terrific play to start the season.

And while we’re chatting up the Lions, quarterback Jared Goff has had difficulty holding onto the football. He’s thrown several critical interceptions.

But there are four games left in the regular season. The Lions are 9-4 and still in a position to get a high seed in the playoffs. But they’ve got to hold onto the ball. That may be the most important thing next to scoring more points than your opponent. I know what you’re saying: Did you come up with that last line on your own? Unfortunately, yes.
