With a loss Saturday night in Brooklyn, the Detroit Pistons are one loss away from the wrong side of history.
The Pistons tied the 2014 Philadelphia 76ers for the NBA’s all-time single-season record for most consecutive losses with their 26th straight loss vs. the Nets. The Pistons were competitive for most of the game, but the Nets opened up a 20-point lead early in the fourth quarter and didn’t look back.

The team is now 2-27 on the season, after starting 2-1. The last Pistons win came on Oct. 28, the home opener vs. the Chicago Bulls.
The Pistons will see Brooklyn again on Tuesday in Detroit, their last chance to stave off owning the longest single-season losing streak all alone. They will have Boston, Toronto and Houston up next after the Nets.
The 2015 Philadelphia 76ers own the record for most consecutive losses over two seasons with 28 straight losses. If the Pistons reach 29 losses in a row, they’ll be all alone in both infamous statistical categories.
