DETROIT – The Detroit Lions have clinched a home playoff game for the first time in the Ford Field era, and tickets are expected to be in high demand.

Right now, the Lions control their own destiny for the No. 2 seed in the NFC. If they can beat the Cowboys and Vikings to finish the season 13-4, that’s likely where they’ll land.

If the Lions lose one or both of those games, they’re more likely to end up as the No. 3 seed.

Either way, the Lions would host a wildcard round playoff game on the weekend of Jan. 13-14, or on Monday Night Football on Jan. 15.

But it’s also still a possibility for the Lions to earn the No. 1 seed in the NFC and get a first-round bye. They would need some help from the top-seeded 49ers, but it’s possible.

If that happens, the Lions won’t host their first playoff game until the weekend of Jan. 20-21.

Even though we don’t yet know when or who the Lions will play in the postseason, tickets are already on sale, contingent on whether those games actually happen.

Wildcard round tickets

For example, StubHub currently has wildcard game tickets available with the specification that “date and time are to be determined.”

The cheapest single ticket available for the game on StubHub, as of 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, is $508 for section 343, row 13.

There are currently 367 single tickets for sale on StubHub, with the most expensive listed at $3,496 for a seat right at midfield in section 127, row 9. Paying $1,000 would get you a single ticket in section 123, row 8 or section 124, row 24.

Divisional round tickets

Tickets for the second round are also on sale, with an “if necessary” designation. There are only 71 single tickets currently available on StubHub.

The cheapest single ticket costs $718 to sit in section 319, row 13. The most expensive ticket is $4,370 to sit at midfield in section 106, row 36.

It’s unclear if there are fewer tickets available for this game because of higher demand or if more will be released once the matchups are determined.

But one thing’s for sure: The Lions’ first NFC North title has fans itching to attend a postseason game at Ford Field, so if you want to go, it’ll be expensive.
