DETROIT – The longest single-season losing streak in NBA history is over.
The Detroit Pistons finally put a winning performance together, beating the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night at Little Caesars Arena, snapping the team’s 28-game losing streak.

The Pistons led the Raptors for most of the game, and were able to hold onto a late lead to win their third game of the season. The final score was 129-127.
Pistons star Cade Cunningham continued his offensive tear, scoring 30 points along with 12 assists, zero turnovers, and a few big shots to seal the game down the stretch. Alec Burks added 16 points off the bench, and Kevin Knox scored 17 points. Jalen Duren had 18 points and 17 rebounds.
A loss tonight would have been the longest losing streak in NBA history. Instead, they’ll just be tied for the record. Detroit is now 3-29 on the season. Before Saturday night’s win, they hadn’t won a game since Oct. 28.
The losing streak is over. Good riddance. Fans will finally get some free wings.
Let’s be clear, though -- breaking the losing streak is great, but the season is still lost, and the Pistons are still a mess, without a clear path for future success. We’ll take the win, of course.
