The Detroit Lions released defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs on Tuesday, likely to create room on the roster for the return of injured players.
Buggs posted the news to his X account. The Lions confirmed the move, too.
Thank You Detroit For Everything The Past Year Has Been Amazing From Meeting New People Playing With Great Teammates But The Time Has Come For Me To Say Goodbye. Detroit 96 Out. ❤️

Buggs was drafted by the Steelers in 2019, and signed with the Lions in 2022. He started 13 games for the team last season, and signed a two-year contract extension last March.
The Lions are anticipating the return of defensive tackle Alim McNeill, C.J. Gardner-Johnson and James Houston on defense. The Lions also re-signed fullback Jason Cabinda to the practice squad.
