The top-ranked high school football recruit in the 2025 class, a quarterback from Belleville, Michigan, has announced where he’ll be playing college football.

Bryce Underwood, from Belleville High School, was voted the 2023 Michigan High School Football Player of the Year. He threw for 3,405 yards and 42 touchdowns this past season for Belleville.

Underwood was reportedly considering LSU, Michigan, Alabama, Georgia, Florida State and others. The 6-foot-4 quarterback announced Saturday that he’ll be joining LSU over Michigan and other Power Five schools next year. He made the announcement surrounded by supporters at Belleville High School.

“They offered me as a sophomore, have been recruiting me since then and the program history,” Underwood said, according to ESPN. “They have great program history, great quarterback history, as well.”

Underwood would be competing to replace reigning Heisman Trophy award winning QB Jayden Daniels, who has declared for the NFL Draft.
