DETROIT – The Detroit Lions took down Matthew Stafford and the Rams in the first round of the playoffs, and now there are two teams they could play next weekend.
UPDATE: Lions will host Buccaneers next weekend in second round of playoffs
Before the Lions kicked off on Sunday night, the No. 7 Packers upset the No. 2 Cowboys in Dallas, meaning the Lions would host a divisional round game if they could get past the Rams.

It wasn’t easy, but the Lions escaped with a 24-23 win in their first-ever playoff game at Ford Field. The offense scored touchdowns on each of the first three possessions, but then settled for just three points on their final five drives.
Luckily, the defense stepped up in the second half, allowing only a pair of field goals on four Rams possessions.
So now the Lions know they’ll be at home next weekend against either the Eagles or Buccaneers, depending on which team wins Monday night.
Philadelphia looked like one of the best teams in the conference until the final six weeks, when it lost five of six to surrender the NFC East title to the Cowboys.
Tampa Bay, meanwhile, won five of its last six games to secure the NFC South. The Buccaneers and Lions squared off in Week 6, with the Lions going into Raymond James Stadium and winning 20-6.
The Eagles and Buccaneers kick off at 8:15 p.m. Monday, so fans will have to wait until around 11:30 to find out who the Lions host in the divisional round.
