DETROIT – This has been the best Detroit Lions season in decades, and now they’re only one win away from the NFC Championship Game.
It’s almost hard to believe. But it’s real. All that stands between Detroit and a spot in the NFL’s final four is a Buccaneers team they already beat.
And this time, the game is on Ford Field.
This is a special occasion, so the Lions Kool-Aid Korner had special shows throughout the week.
If you missed any of those episodes when they aired live on Local 4+, you can watch them all below.
Monday: Just a taste
Monday’s show was a short appetizer for the rest of the week. I joined Christy on the Daily+ Live to talk about the Lions’ win over Matthew Stafford and the Rams.
Tuesday: Rod Meloni shreds the ‘Cowardly Lion’
It took the Lions 30 years to win a playoff game, so we weren’t going to move on after one day!
We spent some time Tuesday talking more about the win over the Rams, and then moved on to the upcoming matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Oh yeah, and Rod Meloni has officially joined the bandwagon by ripping up his longtime “Cowardly Lion” poster.
Wednesday: Jason Colthorp vs. Devin Scillian predictions battle
Jason Colthorp stuck around to be on the show Wednesday, which means Wednesday was a lot of fun.
We got his thoughts on the Rams win before diving into how this rematch with the Buccaneers will be different from Week 6. Will it hurt the Lions that both coordinators are interviewing for head coaching jobs during playoff prep?
Then, the one and only Devin Scillian dropped in to talk about his nearly perfect preseason predictions, compared to Jason’s more skeptical expectations.
Thursday: Injuries, controversies and Bobbie
If you haven’t heard from Bobbie yet, you have to watch this round of the Kool-Aid Korner.
Bobbie is a diehard Lions fan who’s been going to games since their last playoff win (wait until you hear her beer spilling story).
We also got updates from Dan Campbell on key Lions injuries and dove into a pair of controversies surrounding Kerby Joseph and C.J. Gardner-Johnson.
Friday: Final matchup thoughts, covering games, ‘Baker Mayfield’
Wait, is that Baker Mayfield? In the Local 4 newsroom?
“Baker” joined us for our final thoughts on the Lions-Buccaneers matchup. We also talked to the people who cover the games at Ford Field (and, previously, the Silverdome!) about what happens behind the scenes.
Thanks for hanging out with us all week, and Go Lions!
