This Sunday we will try to make like it’s any other Sunday but it’s not. It can’t be. That’s because this Sunday the 58th Super Bowl will take place in Las Vegas. That’s a sentence we thought we’d never see.
The NFL used to bad mouth Vegas like it was the root of all evil. Maybe it is but funny how money can make people change their view!
It’s the San Francisco 49ers vs. the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are looking to repeat as world champions. The Niners are looking for their 6th Super Bowl win in franchise history. But the Niners haven’t won one since 1995 so their fans are in the ‘they’re due’ mode. Not sure anyone in Detroit will root for them.
Last Sunday was one of the more exhilarating and painful afternoons in Lions’ history. The Lions held a 24-7 lead over the Niners in the NFC Title Game. Detroit needed 30 minutes to punch their ticket to the Super Bowl for the first time ever. But two 4th down conversions and a turnover and suddenly their dream was gone. But again, we ask...why is this Sunday unlike any other Sunday?
