DETROITDetroit Lions star Alex Anzalone opened up about how hard it hit him when his young son asked if he had gone to the Super Bowl this season.

Anzalone and the Lions had a 17-point lead at halftime of the NFC Championship Game in San Francisco before a disastrous second half ripped the franchise’s first Super Bowl appearance from their grasp.

In an article for The Players Tribune, Anzalone told the story of returning home from that game, devastated, and trying to move on.

He said he was hanging out with his family a couple of days later when his son asked him, “Daddy, did you go to the Super Bowl?”

Anzalone talked about how all the memories flooded back in that moment, from when they were 0-10-1 to start the 2021 season to beating the Rams and Buccaneers in the playoffs just two years later.
