Police in Florida are looking for a Detroit Lions player in connection with a domestic violence charge.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office posted a wanted poster for Detroit Lions cornerback Cameron Sutton. The sheriff’s office originally said he was wanted for “aggravated battery domestic violence,” but have since said that he is wanted for “domestic battery by strangulation.”

Police posted his vehicle information and asked for anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact them.

The warrant was issued on March 7 in connection with an incident in Lutz, Florida where he allegedly assaulted a woman, police told Local 4. Police have apparently not been able to locate Sutton.

The Detroit Lions released the following statement: “We became aware of the ongoing legal situation involving Cam Sutton this morning. We will continue to monitor the situation and will not have further comment at this time.”

Sutton, 29, signed a three-year, $33 million contract with the Lions in March 2023, appearing in all of Detroit’s regular season and playoff games. Before that, the University of Tennessee product played for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2017 to 2022.
