PITTSBURGH – The No. 14-ranked Oakland Golden Grizzlies get their first win ever in the round of 64 after pulling off the ultimate upset by taking down the No. 3-ranked Kentucky Wildcats 80-76 to advance to the round of 32.
The Wildcats had no answer for senior guard Jack Gohlke and his 10 three-pointers (11 is the record in tournament history), which are the most made against Kentucky in program history.

Gohlke became the fifth player since former Purdue Boilermakers guard Carsen Edwards to achieve such a feat in NCAA tournament history as he finished the game with 32 points.
“This guy right here (Gohlke) had no conscience,” said head coach Greg Kampe. “We talked about it all week, and I told him to go shoot it.”
Gohlke had the ultimate green light as he closed the first half, making 7-13 from deep for 21 points. As the old saying goes, if some is good, more is better.
The senior guard closed the second half with three more threes, in the victory to cap off a 32 point night shooting 10-20 from downtown.
“(Hot shooting) I mean it’s just something I work so hard for my entire career,” said Gohlke. “I’m just having fun. its a dream come true.”
With the March memory of a lifetime, Oakland University will take on either No. 6 seed Texas Tech or No. 11 seed North Carolina State on Saturday inside PPG Paints Arena.
