Feel the Bern: What do the Pistons do next?

DETROIT – This is a question that basketball fans in this area will struggle with: What do the Pistons do?

They just completed the worst season in the history of the franchise and will have a top-five draft pick.

However, the draft is considered weak this year. That’s the worst news because how do you get better without talent?

The Pistons do have $60 million of cap space to spend, but the problem here is you will have to overpay free agents.

It happens all the time when teams come off an awful season, and overpaying is what has to be done if you hope to show your fans you are serious about getting better.

The Pistons’ brain trust has said they will hire a team president in charge of basketball operations, and that General Manager Troy Weaver will report to that person.

Again, this is a long, tedious process to get better in the NBA, unless of course, you throw a Hail Mary and offer Lions GM Brad Holmes the gig. Just kidding... I think...
