DETROIT – The Detroit Lions have reportedly extended quarterback Jared Goff, making him the highest-paid player in franchise history.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Goff has agreed to a four-year, $212 million deal, with $170 million guaranteed.
Goff, 29, led the Lions to their first NFC North Division title last season. They finished 12-5 and came just short of their first Super Bowl appearance.
Last season, he threw for 4,575 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. He added 837 yards, four touchdowns, and no picks in three playoff games.
In three seasons since he came to Detroit in the Matthew Stafford trade, Goff has thrown for 12,258 yards, 78 touchdowns, and 27 interceptions.
This is the third massive extension handed out by the Lions this offseason. They made Amon-Ra St. Brown the highest-paid receiver in the league, and then made Penei Sewell the highest-paid tackle on the very same day.
Another done deal in Detroit: Lions are signing QB Jared Goff to a four-year, $212 million contract extension that includes $170 million guaranteed, sources tell ESPN.
