The Pistons took G League Ignite star Ron Holland II with the No. 5 pick during the first round on Wednesday, but the team needed more shooting, so the deal was made.
The Pistons jumped 16 spots to acquire Moore, under contract for $2.5 million in the 2024-2025 season. The team now has about $62 million in cap space, so they could take on contracts ahead of free agency.
This past season, Moore got little run during the Timberwolves magical playoff run. But, the former Duke guard averaged 10.7 points in 88 games during his collegiate career, shooting 45% from the field, 35.8% from the three-point line, and 81.4% from the charity stripe.
