Bickerstaff was considered among the top candidates for the job after parting ways with Cleveland following two straight playoff appearances. Bickerstaff had a 170-159 (.517) record in five seasons with the Cavaliers.

The Pistons fired head coach Monty Williams, just one year into a record-breaking contract after the worst season in Pistons franchise history.

This offseason has brought major change to the Pistons, with a new front office, head coach, and roster changes on the horizon.
