Talbot had a 27-10-6 record with the Kings last season, in 54 regular season games. He posted a 2.48 goals against average and a 91% save rate.

Talbot, 36, adds some veteran depth to the goaltender position, joining Alex Lyon and Ville Husso in the potential rotation.

Sebastian Cossa, the No. 15 pick in the 2021 draft for Detroit, is considered the future at the position for the franchise, but likely won’t be ready until 2025.
