Harris was considered a top target for Detroit, who entered free agency with cap space to use.
This will be the second stint in Detroit for Harris, who played for the Pistons previously from 2016 to 2018. The Pistons traded him to the Clippers as part of the Blake Griffin trade in 2018.
Harris will add a shooting and defensive threat for the Pistons, likely in the starting lineup.
Harris, 31, averaged 17 points, six rebounds and three assists last year with the Sixers, including shooting 35% from three.
